Like many Adobe users, I have come to taking a liking to Adobe Flash Builder 4. Having never worked with Flex until now it has come as a fair challenge to learn the ways of Flex. So I ventured out to find help and ran across a new product called ‘Flexicious’. The product itself hasn’t been around very long and there isn’t much out on the Internet about it. And about all I can tell you is it can do some pretty dang cool stuff with Datagrids!
Although I am still trying to figure out how to use it (more to my lack of Flex experience), what I really wanted to tell you about is the company behind it. I figured I would get the trial and see what I could do with it. First, you can’t just download the trial – you fill out a form and they send you some samples that you can play around with. Being fairly new to Flash Builder I had a hard time getting started with the trial. In other words, I was about to give up.
Then out of the blue came an e-mail from the company asking me how I was doing and if I got everything. Also asked me if I had any questions or problems. What? A company that cared to follow up with a potential customer? Not something you see much of these days.
After I explained the problems I had, mostly due to my inexperience once again, the first line of the ensuing reply back is what got me believing in Flexicious.
“We are here to help!” was the first line in the reply. I knew I had had a long day already, but wait a company that first follows up on a trial customer then also wants to help before the product is even bought?
And help they did! They sent me a scaled down version to try out that is more my level of use. I didn’t ask for one and they didn’t have to do that. But the fact that they did – and made a smaller trial just for me is customer support that speaks volumes for the dedication this company has for its customers.
The final result is that once I am comfortable enough with Flash Builder – I will also be a Flexicious customer. And if the after sale support is anything like the before sale support, you can bet I will be one happy and productive customer as well.
You can find more info on Flexicious by going to their website, http://www.flexicious.com, and take a look at the cool sample data grids! I want to be able to do that and with the help of Flexicious I may just get my wish.
